Getting your Child into Sports

Posted on February 22, 2015 at 8:24 pm

Physical activity, teamwork and competition are three healthy aspects in a child’s life, and there are plenty of opportunities in school and out of school to get your children involved in sports. They can join local football teams, learn martial arts or join after school running classes.

The options are virtually limitless, and there are many social skills that can be acquired from playing regular sports, whilst your child can build relationships with other kids and make new friends in the process. The Olympics may not have succeeded in pushing people into joining sports clubs, but that doesn’t mean you child should miss out, and you should always urge them to partake in some healthy competition.

Whether you’re 6 years old or 68, it’s always nice to be a part of something, and you can certainly get that from local sports teams.

Do Manchester United Play Unattractive Football?

Posted on February 15, 2015 at 10:45 am

Many questions have been asked of Manchester United this season, and there’s been a lot of talk about ‘long ball united’ after Sam Allardyce criticised the team for their style of play. With players like Rooney, Di Maria, Van Persie and Falcao, you’d never expect comments about an unattractive style of play, but is there truth to his remarks?

Van Gal doesn’t seem to think so, and his statistics on ‘long balls’ say otherwise, but Di Maria has only scored 3 times in 17 league appearances, Rooney has been positioned in a slightly defensive midfield role of late, and Falcao has only scored 4 times in 15 appearances.

The goals don’t seem to be flying in for Van Persie either, and on the whole Manchester United are not creating too many chances. That said, they are third in the league, and most Manchester united fans would prefer points over ‘attractive’ performances.
