So at the halfway point of the premier league season, we can see that the title is likely to be between Liverpool or Chelsea. They’re the top two teams right now and they’re both playing with complete and utter confidence. So if we had to decide who will end the season in top spot who would we say? Well for us it has to be Chelsea. The main reason for this is that they’re not only scoring goals for fun and grinding out results when they need to, they’re also defending extremely well. This cannot be said about Liverpool. It’s no secret that Klopp has had a bit of a goalkeeping nightmare with Karius failing miserable in his few performances this year. Mignolet looks stronger but only just and we fear that there could be more defensive issues to come for Liverpool, which may just cost them the title.

Coutinho Picks up a knock
Posted on November 30, 2016 at 12:49 am
It’s always hard for a team when they lose their best layer to injury and it looks like this has just happened to Liverpool. Over the years Coutinho hasn’t had too many problems. He’s had a few knocks here and there but his time spent on the sidelines has been limited. That’s all about to change though as he now looks like he’s set to be out until New Year after sustaining an injury against Sunderland in the 33rd minute. He was replaced by Origi who came in and did a fantastic job, scoring the game-changing goal. It just goes to show that Liverpool do have a good squad of players and for the Reds fans sake, let’s hope the squad can contribute and fill the void left by Coutinho. Lallana looks set to be back soon, as does Firmino but it will be interesting to see how Liverpool play without their main man.

Fitness in the UK compared to Australia
Posted on October 24, 2016 at 12:34 pm
There are huge differences in lifestyle between British people and Australians and the weather certainly has something to do with it. Staying motivated in the UK can be quite hard to do when it’s dark and chucking it down with rain, but of course during our Christmas period Australia enjoys their hottest weather. Even during their winter the temperatures are so high you’d expect them to seek shade and relax but there’s more runners, cyclists and personal trainers during this period and that’s common in many Australian cities. There are even free fitness classes at local parks and beaches. That’s why Australians are fitter and it’s probably why they’re better at sports! Seriously speaking, the British government can do a lot more in terms of persuading more people to stay fit and healthy and they can certainly take a leaf from the Australian government.

Adam Lallana’s performance this year
Posted on September 30, 2016 at 1:47 pm
Adam Lallana really has impressed for Liverpool this year. He’s in with a big chance of collecting the player of the month award with two goals and 2 assists, not to mention a man of the match performance against Chelsea. He really is flying right now, which is great news for Liverpool and terific news for England. With Lallana hitting top form right now, Liverpool have jumped up the premier league table, surpassing bitter rivals Manchester United. It’s not just the 3 points they keep collecting though, they’re smashing goals in left right an centre and they’re all coming from midfield. Even without Sturridge, Origi or Ings starting, Liverpool have up to 7 players in the box to grab a goal so some teams will find it impossible to stop them, as many others have faced the same problem against the Reds this year.

Liverpool Ignore Calls for a New Left-back
Posted on August 26, 2016 at 10:18 pm
Alberto Moreno has had a torrid start to the Premier League season. Not only does he have the media and fans on his back after his last two performances, he’s now been dropped by Jurgen Klopp and replaced with James Milner. His big mistake came against Arsenal when he nearly cost Liverpool the match, but he’s not convinced in his cameo appearances since. Moreno is an out and out left-back so it can’t do his confidence any good to see that Jurgen Klopp would rather have Milner play in his position. Moreno’s biggest attribute is his speed but it’s only caused him to make rash decisions lately, and he’ll need to work hard on the training field to get his place back in the team. It’s suprising to see Klopp pick Milner though rather than buying a new left-back, so it will be interesting to see how the season unfolds.

Zlatan off the mark in 4 minutes
Posted on July 31, 2016 at 12:12 pm
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a man full of confidence, he’s probably more arrogant than Manchester United’s manager Jose Mourinho, and so it’s fair to say many rival fans are hoping they’ll both be failures come the end of the campaign.
That doesn’t look likely at the moment though, with Ibrahimovic scoring with an overhead kick inside the first five minutes of the match. He celebrated the way Zlatan always does, mutedly. The 5-2 win over Galatasaray proves United have really kicked on with their pre-season training, and they certainly dominated the match, but there were a couple of defensive errors which led to goals. It’s difficult to say how Manchester United will shape up for the first game of the premier league season, but some big names will be dropped, but if they can stick together and play like a team of old, they’ll have a very good season.

Mane – not the big signing LFC fans were hoping for
Posted on June 2, 2016 at 9:26 am
Sadio Mane was phenomenal for Southampton last season, scoring many goals in the premier league, taking the Saints to new heights. So why is it most Liverpool fans you speak too aren’t that excited about what he’ll be bringing to the team? Well he is a Southampton player, and Liverpool haven’t had huge success when buying from Southampton in the past. Lallana, Lovren, Lambert, Mignolet and Clyne haven’t exactly set the football world alight, but perhaps Mane can. He’s one of the fastest players in the league and he’s likely to play on the wing or through the middle, cutting defences apart. We know there are bigger names out there, but Liverpool fans should appreciate the talent that Mane is and give him the backing he deserves.

Liverpool miss out on Gotze
Posted on May 23, 2016 at 9:18 am
It looked set to be Kopp’s first marquee signing as Liverpool manager. Gotze made it clear he wasn’t happy sitting on the bench last season at Bayern Munich but with Carlo Ancelotti coming in he’s committed his future to them. It’s a big blow for Liverpool because he was the only high profile player on their radar. It’s a bit of a worry too because if Liverpool can’t attract top stars, which is very likely considering they’re not in any European competition next season, they could be ready for another step down in the table. It will be interesting to see who they’re linked with over the coming months, but there you have it, it certainly won’t be Mario Gotze. Let us know who you think Liverpool need to sign this summer.

Congratulations to Leicester
Posted on April 21, 2016 at 9:56 pm
If you read my last post you’ll probably be laughing at how wrong I was. Leicester has officially overcome the odds to become the Premier League Champions for 2015-16. Okay, so I won’t take all my words back. On paper, for me, they’re still a fairly average side. They’ve got goals in their game, I’ll give them that, and they can defend, and as we can see with three games to go, that’s all they needed. They of course had teamwork on their side too, and every one of their players deserves a massive mention. Vardy will probably get most of the plaudits because his goals have been extremely important, but the question now is how many players will they lose in the summer, and can they push on again next year?

Leicester City – How are they doing it?
Posted on March 21, 2016 at 2:08 pm
I’ve watched a lot of Leicester city games this season, and I still can’t work out how they keep winning. They don’t have the best players in the league, they don’t have the best support, and with Ranieri as their manager, they certainly don’t have the best boss.
They tend to get by with relatively simple tactics, and they stick to what they’re good at. Of course having Vardy and Mahrez scoring goals important, but at the back Robert Huth is becoming one of the best centrebacks in the league. I know for a fact half of their players won’t cut it at a club like Liverpool, Man City or Manchester Unites, but they play as a team and that’s the difference between them and the other so called ‘big 4’.
